Simple roots. Real story.

We didn't start as gear makers — but where most good stories begin: on the trail. Swedish Lapland, deep winter, living in the cold, learning from the dogs and listening to the people who shared this life with us.

Winter 2016, up North, 68°N, 20°E. Our sleds were heavy but the brakes weren't up to the task. The night before a technical drive on ice, Indrek built a brake for Marion's sled. The next day — smooth drive, full control, and something clicked. Not with a business plan. Just a problem worth solving.

The brake was the spark. Snow anchors were the birth. From that moment, one idea guided us: One gear can't do it all.

Every sport has its own physics. Every dog has its own needs. So we chose a different path — purpose-built gear, one need at a time.

From Swedish Lapland to the mountains of France, and today the woods of Jämtland — Lumac kept growing. We kept learning, extending our range from mushing to all dog sports. Always rethinking what already exists. Getting inspired by old traditions, adjusting, crossing disciplines, using materials nobody had tried before. Inspired by tradition, refined by detail.

Stitching rubbing your dog's neck? We work on the pattern, burn the thread ends. Metal hardware on a collar adds unnecessary weight? We design one with a rope loop, 100% metal free. Metal carabiners sticking in the cold, dangerous for your dog's tongue? We develop a plastic snap — just as resistant.

That's how we work. One detail at a time. Our dogs are our first testers — always have been, always will be. Simply the way we live.
