Can I visit the workshop?

Yes — we love welcoming people and share together a good Fika. We're generally open on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Schedules can vary so always send us a message before coming. We don't have a physical shop — it's just us and our dogs.

Where are Lumac products made?

Most of our products are designed and handmade in our workshop in Jämtland, Sweden. Where we work with partners, we choose small family workshops that share our values.

What currency do you use?

Euros (EUR).

How long does it take to produce my order?

Every Lumac product is made in small batches in our workshop. Standard lead time is 10 working days from order confirmation. During peak season — autumn and winter — allow 15 to 20 working days.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times depend on your location. See our Shipping & Returns page for details.

Which line for my dog.s?

Sport matters. Tension matters. Terrain matters. Start with your sport — one-dog, two-dog, or team. There's always a line for your dog and your need. It's actually pretty simple — let yourself be walked through our Gear Guides.

Why do you have sizing for your bungee lines?

Every dog pulls differently — weight matters, so do experience and mind. A rookie just learning may need a soft elastic to encourage them. An experienced, well-muscled dog with stamina may need more strength to match their hard pull. It's like shoes: imagine running in a size much too big or much too small — you'd be uncomfortable, demotivated and probably hurt. Wear the right size and the shoe disappears. Same with your dog and the right line tension — it will simply disappear.

Does temperature affect my bungee line's performance?

Our bungee lines are designed to keep their properties whether it's minus 30 or plus 30 — the elastic performs the same. But temperature affects your dog. In cold, dogs often pull harder, have more energy. In warm weather, they might feel sluggish or need less encouragement. A same dog might need a softer line in summer and a stiffer one in winter — not because the line changes, but because your dog does.

Why rope for team lines instead of wire?

Rope is very light (inspired by climbing gear), endures massive loads, and stays stiff enough to keep its shape without knotting. It's easy to handle, minimizes bouncing, and disappears like the rest of our equipment. Rope works perfectly for sprint and mid-distance racing. For longer distances, some mushers prefer wire if their dogs chew, but most of our customers love rope for the feel and handling.

What about sustainability and ethics?

Most of our carabiners are removable — you replace the carabiner, not the whole line. This lets you extend gear life and reduce waste. Materials are mainly sourced in Europe from suppliers who share our values.

How durable is Lumac gear?

We make the best gear we can for you, your dog, and activity. Our focus is on comfort and performance, not making gear that lasts forever. How long it lasts depends on how you use it — a line for leisure will outlast one used for hard training and racing.

How do I know when gear needs replacing?

Check your line regularly for:

  • Fraying or loose webbing
  • Tears or thin spots in the material
  • Worn elastic that's lost elasticity (doesn't bounce back)
  • Damaged stitching

If you're unsure, send us a photo. We're happy to advise whether it needs replacing or repair.
